In February, we send love to our local shelter cats through our Litter Drive, but in March, we help our canine service companions with our annual fundraiser for America’s VetDogs!

 What is America’s VetDogs?

Sometimes it’s not a helping hand we need but a helping paw. At Pet Valu, we are proud to help raise funds to support America’s VetDogs, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing assistance dogs as well as training, to disabled veterans of all eras at no charge to them. Recently, VetDogs also extended their services to first responders, including fire, police and emergency medical personnel. These dogs are trained to assist in a variety of different situations ranging from guide dogs for the visually impaired, wheelchair guide dogs, hearing dogs and service dogs to work with veterans with physical limitations.

With the support of Pet Valu’s generous customers, VetDogs will be able to increase the services already offered to more veterans and first responders with physical and occupational disabilities. VetDogs does more than simply provide trained dogs to individuals in need. Currently, VetDogs has also placed trained physical and occupational therapy dogs at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in order to aid soldiers transitioning into using prosthetic limbs.

How Can You Help?

During the month of March, Pet Valu will be raising money for America’s VetDogs by offering customers the option of purchasing 2oz. bottles of hand sanitizer for only three dollars. Customers are more than welcome to donate larger amounts to help support the cause. All of the proceeds generated will be contributed to America’s VetDogs to support its mission of helping those who have served our country live with independence. The hand sanitizers come with a carabiner to hook onto a leash and are a great way to clean your hands after you pick up after your furry friend.

 Last Year

Last year our incredible customers helped us donate over $121,500 to our friends at America’s VetDogs!

That brings our lifetime total donation to over $216,600 in just THREE months!

That’s about 72,200 bottles of hand sanitizer sold!
